Joint force in separate drives arrested four activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami from two upazilas of the district on Monday night on suspicion of their involvement in sabotage acts.
Police super Hamidul Alam said a team of the joint force, comprising members of police, Rapid Action Battalion and Border Guard Bangladesh, conducted an all-out drive in Panchbibi and Sadar upazilas of the district at night and arrested the four.
Among the arrestees were three Jamaat men and one BNP activist.
They were held on charges of involvement in vandalism and subversive activities during the recent hartal and blockade programmes of the 18-party opposition alliance in the district. -UNB
