A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was killed as a human hauler collided head-on with the motorcycle he was ridding at East Panthapara in Rajarhat upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Khairul Kabir Jewel, 22, joint convener of Kurigram district unit of JCD and son of Mansur Ali of Moulvipara of the same upazila.
Police and locals said the human hauler collided head-on with Jewel’s motorcycle in the area at about 09:30am on his way to the district town to attend a party programme, leaving him critically injured.
Jewel died while being taken to Sadar Upazila Health Complex. -UNB
