4-Day Cricket: Rain halts first day match at Chattogram

Dhaka – Hosts Bangladesh A Team scored 18 for 1 in 7.4 overs before rain halted the match on the first day of the second four-day unofficial Test match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Friday.

Mohammad Naim and Raqibul Hasan were unbeaten at 6 and 10 runs respectively.

On the day, Bangladesh captain Imrul Kayes won the toss and opted to bat first.

But the hosts got an early blow while Kayes (2) was dismissed by Yamin Ahmadzai in the 3.4 overs. Bangladesh were 5 for 1.

Earlier, hosts Bangladesh A Team suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Afghanistan A Team on the 4th and the final day of the first unofficial Test match that concluded on July 8 at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.

Hosts will play two four-day and five one-day matches against touring Afghanistan A Team.

The first three one-day matches will be held in Chattogram on July 19, 21 and 24 while the last two one-day matches are scheduled to be held in BKSP of Savar on July 27 and 29.UNB
