BPL Football: Bashundhara crush Arambagh 3-0

Dhaka- League leaders Bashundhara Kings further consolidated their position to clinch the 13-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football title beating Arambagh Krira Sangha by 3-0 goals at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Friday.

Earlier, rain stopped the match, which was originally scheduled to be played on Thursday, after eight minutes into the play. The match resumed today from where it stopped on Thursday.

With the day’s feat, Bashundhara Kings maintained their top slot in the league with unbeaten run securing 55 points from 19 league matches, four points ahead of nearest rivals and holders Dhaka Abahani, which bagged 51 points from 20 matches.

Arambagh KS, on the other hand, remained at the 5th slot with their previous collection of 26 points from 20 matches.

In day’s match, Bashundhara got the first breakthrough in the second half when they were awarded a penalty.

Brazilian striker Marcos Vinicius made no mistake to convert the goal for his side in the 54th minute (1-0).

Then, Costa Rican forward Daniel Colindres netted twice in a span of eight minutes (68th and 76th minute) and sealed the victory for Bashundhara (3-0).UNB
