Heavy rains swamp, paralyse Dhaka City roads

Jahangirnagar University, Sept 17 (UNB) – A seminar titled ‘Basics and Research Trends in Fibre Optic Communication System’ was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Monday.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) of JU student unit organised the seminar at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium. 

Professor of University of Yamanashi, Japan Dr Masanori Hanawa delivered the keynote speech on the topics.

In his speech, he inspired the participants to pursue higher study in Japan.

Presided over by Associate Professor of JU Institute of Information Technology (IIT) M Mesbah Uddin Sarker, the seminar was also addressed by Associate Professor Dr M Shamim Kaiser, Associate Professor Dr Md Whaiduzzaman and Assistant Professor Shamim Al Mamun.

Over 100 students of different departments and institutes took part in the programme.
