Dhaka -Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan police (DMP) arrested four alleged illegal drug dealers and recovered 50,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from Shahbagh area on Monday night.
The arrested drug dealers are—Sayed Alam, Md Masud Rana, Md Akibul Alam alias Sabuj and Md Sekandar.
Acting on a tip-off, A DB team led by its senior Assistant Commissioner Shah Nur Alam Patwari conducted trhe drive at around 9:40 pm and arrested the four illegal drug traders along with a private car.
Searching the private car, the detectives recovered 50,000 Yaba tablets.
Sources at the DB headquarters said the arrested drug dealers had been involved in selling Yaba tablets in various districts, including the capital for a long times.
