A seminar on regional journalism for national development organized by Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) inn association with Mass Communication And Journalism (MCJ) department of Rajshahi University (RU) on the university senate building at 10.00am on Tuesday.Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu inaugurated the program as the chief guest.
University VC Professor Muhammad Mizanuddin presided over the programme while Shatil Siraj of MCJ department moderated it.
Pro-VC Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan addressed the program as the special guest.
Hasanul Haq Inu said Mass Media is the fourth Column of a state. Journalists can contribute to the development of country besides strengthening the democracy by the impartial attitude of their profession.
Director General of PIB Md.Shah Alam delivered welcome speech at the program.
Dr. Pradip Kumar Pandey, Chairman of the MCJ dept presented key note at the program.
Former Director General of PIB Professor Dulal Chandra Bishwas of MCJ, Professor Mshiur Rahman, Editor of Daily Sonali Sangbad Md. Liakot Ali, Actinh editor of Daily Sonar Desh Akbarul Hasan Millat ,President of Rajshahi Journalist Union (RJI) Khazi Shahed also discussed at the program.
Treasurer Professor Sayen Uddin Ahmed, Register Professor Anthazul Haque,Student Advisor Sadequl Arefin Matin ,Proctor Tariqul Hasan,Administer for public relation office Elias Hossain and Jounalist of print and electronics media were present at the program.
Earlier IT Minister placed wreath at grave Sir Shaheed Dr. Shamsuzzuha at 9.30 am this day.
