Dhaka-A mobile court here on Saturday sentenced four fishermen to one month jail for netting mother hilsas in the Meghna river at Shatnol in Matlab Uttar upazila defying the government ban.The mobile court, led by Matlab Uttar UNO and Executive Magistrate Sharmin Akter, along with fisheries officials, river police and coastguard members arrested the four fishermen and seized about 1000 metres of current nets from their fishing boats.The arrestees are Shahjahan Bepari, Swapon Prodhan, Majnu Sarker, 35- all hail from Lalpur area under Chandpur Sadar and Billal Hossain, hailing from Chuadanga.The seized nets were burnt.UNB news agency
