Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested four people along with Tk21.50 lakh of hundi money from Chachra area of the town on Sunday.
The arrestees–Abdur Rahim, Mona, Matiar Rahman and Rahmat–hail from different villages of Sharsha and Jhikargachha upazila.BGB sources said on secret information, a team of BGB-26 battalion, led by Subedar Hafiz, conducted a drive in Dalmil area of Chachra around 11:00am and seized a white private car.Later, the BGB team later recovered the money searching the car.The team also detained the four people who were riding the car. BGB suspected that the money was sent from India through Hundi, an informal system of remitting money, as the people could not show any legal documents.
The arrestees and seized money were handed over to Jessore Kotwali Police Station.A case was filed. -UNB, Jessore
