At least four people, including three policemen, were injured as miscreants attacked the local election office in the town on Sunday evening during the 72-hour rail-road-waterway blockade enforced by the BNP-led 18-party alliance.
The injured were sub-inspector Humayun Kabir, constables Elahi and Tariquzzaman and Mostafa, an employee of the election office.
MA Hashem, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said the blockaders attacked and vandalised the election office in the town around 7:00pm, injuring the four.
They also exploded several crude bombs during the incident.
Police fired eight rounds of rubber bullet to bring the situation under control. -UNB, Magura
