Four members of a family were killed as a truck rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Hilalpur Panch Mile in Golapganj upazila on Sylhet-Jakiganj road on Wednesday afternoon.The deceased were identified as Humayun Kabir Afaz, 40, his wife Salma Begum, 35, their son Raihan Hossain, 10 and Humayun’s mother Laal Banu, 65.
Witnesses said the accident took place when the Golapganj–bound speedy truck crashed into the Sylhet-bound auto rickshaw around 1:30pm, leaving Humayun Kabir dead on the spot and four others, including the auto-rickshaw driver, injured.
Among the injured, Raihan died on way to hospital while three others were admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Two of the injured succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
