Dhaka – President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday visited ECB (Engineer Construction Battalion) camp at Sajek in Rangamati as he flew into the hill district as part of his two-day visit to Rangamati and Bandarban districts.On his arrival at Sajek by helicopter, the President was received by Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and GOC 24 Infantry Division Maj Gen Sabbir Ahmed, President’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told UNB from Rangamati over telephone.
The President also visited Ruilui Para where he witnessed the ethnic life style and a handicraft exhibition. He also witnessed kite-flying there.
Head of the ethnic group explained different kinds of indigenous life style and culture of their group.
Later, President Abdul Hamid arrived at scenic tourist spot Nilgiri in Bandarban by helicopter.
The President also enjoyed a cultural program participated by different ethnic groups there.
The President will return to Dhaka on Thursday (Feb 13). – UNB
