Four shops were gutted as a fire broke out at Porshi Bazaar in Zianagar upazila of the district today.Being informed, one firefighting unit from Pirojpur rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after one hour of frantic efforts with the help of locals in the morning, said station officer of Pirojpur fire service Mollah Sekendar Ali.
The fire originated from a kitchen of a shop and soon engulfed the adjacent shops, he added.The affected shop owners claimed that the extent of loss from the fire could go up to taka 8 lakh.(BSS)
