Dhaka – A tribunal here on Wednesday sentenced four people to death for killing Tutul, a student of class four, after abducting him on August 12, 2014.The four convicts are M. Dalim, Shohag Mia, Dulal Mia and Aminul Haque from Charkaowna village of Pakundia Upazila of the district. The tribunal also fined them TK 20,000 each.According to the prosecution, the criminals abducted Tutul, a fourth grader, from his Kindergarten and demand Tk 10 lakh in ransom from his mother. They killed Tutul when they did not get the money on August 12, 2014.Tutul’s father Kamal Uddin Ahmed filed a case with Pakundia police station.Later, police arrested them in connection with the killing.Acting on their confessional statement, police recovered Tutul’s body from a forest near the village.After examining all records and witnesses, Judge M. Awlad Hossain Bhuiyya of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal handed down the verdict.UNB news agency
