40 years of Bangladesh-Vietnam diplomatic relations

Speakers at a seminar in the city yesterday underscored the need for greater cooperation between Bangladesh. The seminar was organized by the Nawab Salimullah Academy to celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.The Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Quang Thuc, was the chief guest at the function which was addressed by eminent journalists Arshad Mazumder, Mostafa Kamal Majumder, Didik J. Zulhadji, second secretary, head of chancery of the embassy of the Republic of Indonesia as special guests.
Presided over by Abdul Jabbar, president, Salimullah Academy, the function was also addressed by Dr. Mostafizur Rahman who placed the keynote paper, SM Nurul Islam and Arman Hassan among others.
The speakers said that both Bangladesh and Vietnam achieved independence through wars and a lot of sacrifices. The two countries can learn from each others experiences to make brilliant strides in the march to progress and prosperity, they said.
