A case was filed on Monday against 442 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing
Islami Chhatra Shibir in connection with Sunday’s clash with cops.
Sub-inspector Safiuddin of Bagerhat Model Police Station filed the case against 42 identified and 400
unidentified Jamaat-Shibir men on charges of blasting crude bombs, attacking police and obstructing
them from discharging their duties.
Officer-in-charge of the police station M Liakat Ali said district unit Jamaat nayeb-e-ameer Rejaul
Karim was among the accused.
Meanwhile, police launched a drive to arrest the accused, he said.
The Jamaat-Shibir activists clashed with police in Panchadighirpar area of Sadar upazila on Sunday
night, leaving 10 people, including three cops, injured. –UNB, Bagerhat
