Dhaka – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested five alleged members of an inter-district robber gang from Basila in the city’s Mohammadpur area early Saturday.The arrestees are – ringleader Md Akhtar Hossain, 50, his associates Md Imdad Sarder, 35, Md Shano, 44, Abdul Quddus Khalasi, 40, and Md yakub Hawlader, 44,UNB News Agency Reported.
Tipped off, a team of Rab-2 conducted a drive at City Garden of Basila and arrested the five alleged gang members while they were
taking preparation to commit robbery around 1:30am, said Lt Col Mohiuddin Ahmed, commanding officer of Rab-2 .Searching the body of Imdad Sarder, the elite force recovered a foreign made pistol, one magazine and three bullets..Following their statement, the same team recovered four CNG-run auto-rickshaws and one private car from behind Sikder Medical College Hospital.
