5 female ‘JMB members’ indicted in Sirajganj

Dhaka – A court here on Monday framed charges against five female ‘members of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh’ (JMB) in a case filed under the Anti-terrorism Act.Judge of the Additional Session’s Court-1 Dr Iman Ali passed the order.Those who were indicted are Phulera Begum, 45, wife of Abu Syed, her two daughters –Shakila Khatun, 18, and Salma Khatun, 16 — Rajia Begum, 35, wife of Rafiqul Islam, and Asia Khatun Aklima, 20, daughter of Abdul Aziz of Kazipur upazila.On October 5, 2016, detectives in a drive arrested four female members of the suicidal squad of JMB from a house in Kazipur upazila. The DB also recovered bomb-making materials, some jihadi books and computer from their possession.A case was filed under the Anti-terrorism Act.On October 17, 2016, the DB police arrested Aklima from Koddar intersection in Sadar upazila of the district.On February 16 last, Roushan Ali, sub-inspector of DB, submitted a chargesheet against them.UNB news agency
