Police arrested five local activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from a procession in the district town on Tuesday.Lecturer Nazrul Islam of Darul Islam Women’s College was among the arrestees.Police said a group of Jamaat-Shibir activists brought out a procession in support of the hartal in the town in the evening.On information, police rushed in and dispersed the activists by charging baton.Police also arrested five Jamaat-Shibir men from the spot.Officer-in-charge Habibul Islam of Sadar Police Station confirmed the arrest. -UNB, Sirajganj
