Five people were killed and 20 others injured in a triangular collision of a truck, a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Naogaon-Rajshahi highway in Mahadevpur upazila on Friday night.
The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
Local people said the bus carrying a wedding party and the auto-rickshaw plunged into a ditch beside the highway at Bhimpur around 9pm as the truck hit the bus and the auto-rickshaw one after another, leaving five passengers of bus and auto-rickshaw dead on the spot and 20 others injured.
The truck also fell into the ditch after the collision.
The wedding party was going to Bakapur village in Manda upazila of the district from Sadar upazila.
The injured people were taken to different hospitals. – UNB
