50 injured in Sylhet clash

At least 50 people were injured, 15 with bullets, in a clash between two groups of people over occupying a water body at Balaura in Sadar upazila on Monday.
Locals said Shahjamal Nurul Huda, former president of Sadar upazila unit of BNP, along with business partners was farming fish in ‘Jilkar Haor’ for long after taking lease on it.The clash ensued when a group of people, led by Kashem of Balaura area and Murshed Ahmed of Chhatak upazila in Sunamganj, went to take control of the water body on Monday morning.
A chase and counter chase took place during the melee when both groups exchanged several gunshots, leaving 50 injured, including 15 with bullets.
Those who sustained bullet injuries were rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. – UNB
