Over 500 leaders and workers of BNP and Jatiya Party (JP) today joined formally the ruling Awami League (AL) being imbued with the ideologies of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.The joining ceremony held at the Shaheed Minar here was attended by District Awami League president freedom fighter Aminul Islam Manju Mandol as the chief guest. Poura AL president Nazrul Islam presided over the function, also addressed, among others, by District AL general secretary and former MP Md Zafar Ali, vice-president Chashi Karim and Poura AL general secretary Kaziul Islam.Those who joined Awami League included Kurigram District Swechchasebak Dal joint convener Rasheduzzaman Koton, member Abdul Motaleb Lizar, Kurigram Poura JP member and a councillor of Kurigram Pourasabha Anisur Rahman, former councillor Abdul Malek, councillor Zamshed Ali Tunku and District JP Sramik Party general secretary Abdur Rahim.
