Dhaka – Police in separate drives arrested 53 people, including an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami, from different parts of the district from Thursday night to Friday morning.Inspector of Special Branch of police of the district Mizanur Rahman said police arrested 19 people from sadar upazila, seven from Kolaroa upazila, eight from Tala upazila, seven from Kaliganj upazila, three from Shyamnagar upazila, four from Ashashuni upazila, one from Debhata and four from Patkelghata upazila.All of them are accused in several cases, said police.However, police also recovered 100 pieces of Yaba tablets, 70 bottles of phensidyl and 500 grams of hemp from their possession.UNB news agency
