A total of 54 solar panels along with their accessories were distributed among the trained staffs of 54 union information and
service centres (UISCs) in all the eight upazilas of the district.On this occasion, the district administration arranged a function at Chandpur Circuit House on Monday afternoon with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Nurullah Nuri in the chair.Deputy Commissioner Md Ismail Hossain distributed the solar panels
along with their accessories as the chief guest while Rural Poverty Alleviation Foundation’s Comilla Region’s Deputy Director Md Habibur Rahman was the special guest.Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abu Ali Mohammad Sajjad Hossain and Union Information and Service Centres Assistant Project Manager Asaduzzaman Kanon, among others, spoke on the occasion.Rural Poverty Alleviation Foundation, Jatiya Palli Unnayan Samabaya Federation, and Samabay Ministry are jointly implementing the project
with a view to rendering services and benefits of the digital systems to the rural people near their homes, said official sources.After the discussion, Deputy Commissioner Ismail Hossain handed over a solar panel, one battery (12-volt), solar fan (12-volt), one piece of
LID-light for each information centre in all the 54 unions across the district.Prior to this, a training on “How to operate and handle the solar system” was imparted to the staffs of the information centres at the same venue.ADC Md Nurullah Nuri formally inaugurated the training session and urged the participants to utilise the training properly and to serve the rural people selflessly so that they could be benefited by the digital system of the government. -UNB, Chandpur
