Narayanganj – Police in separate drives arrested 59 activists of BNP and its associated bodies from different areas of the district.
Police said 14 BNP activists were arrested from different places in the district in an overnight drive from Sunday night to Monday morning.Besides, police detained 45 more activists of the party raiding Dhaka-bound buses at Panchabati of Fatulla on Monday morning.
Most of the arrestees who are the leaders and activists of the party’s Munshiganj district unit were on their way to attend the party’s rally in the capital.
Meanwhile, Narayanganj district BNP president Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker denounced the arrests. – UNB
