Dhaka- A court here on Thursday sentenced six people to life term imprisonment in a double murder case in Terokhada upazila in Khulna in 2001.The convicts are Mizanur Rahman, Ruhul Sheikh, Biplab Sheikh, Akidul Sikder, Engel Sheikh and Ashraful Khan of the Mokampur village of the upazila.
The court also fined them Tk 10,000 each, in default, to suffer two years more imprisonment.According to the prosecution, Ansar Fakir and Azad Munshi were gunned down and hacked to death over previous enmity on April 19, 2001.
Later, their relative Shahera Begum filed a case.After examining all the records and witnesses, sessions judge M A Rab of special speedy trial tribunal handed down the verdict acquitting three other accused.UNB
