Six business establishments were gutted and four others partially damaged by a fire at Sonapur Bazar in the district town on Friday.Maizdi fire station officer Humayun Kabir said the fire originated at a scrap metal shop at the bazaar around noon and it soon engulfed the adjoining ones.
On information, three firefighting units rushed in and doused the blaze after 40 minutes.
The affected shop owners claimed that the loss caused by the fire would be Tk 1 crore. -UNB, Noakhali
