A Dhaka court on Tuesday framed charges against 61 Shibir men including Shibir president Delwar Hossain in a speedy trial case filed with Motijheel Police Station for cocktail explosion, vandalism and creating panic in the minds of the people.The court rejected the bail petitions of 41accused, produced to the court while the remaining 20 are on the run.
Dhaka’s Speedy Trial Court-6 Magistrate Shariar Mahmud Adnan passed the order. He also issued arrest warrant against the fugitives.
All accused, produced to the court pleaded not guilty when court read out the charge sheet. The court fixed June 26 to record the depositions of the witnesses.
Motijheel Police Station filed the case against the accused on January 28. Later on February 6 police submitted the charge sheet against them.
Besides, the scheduled hearing on the remand pleas of police in two cases filed with Savar and GRP Railway Police Stations
against Delwar Hossain was not held as the jail authorities claimed him sick.
