Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a raid recovered 7 live cocktails from Thakurbari area of Gobindaganj upazila town in the district on Tuesday afternoon.According to sources acting on a tip off a team of RAB of Joypurhat-5 Camp led by assistant director Ashraf Hossain Siddique conducted the raid at the area at around 4 pm and found a polythene bag there in an abandoned condition.
After opening the bag, the team found seven rounds of cocktail. Later, the cocktails kept under the water of a bucket deposited to the thana.
Officer -in- charge of Gobindaganj thana Sheikh Delwar Hossain admitted the cocktails recovery and said some one would have kept the cocktails to create destructive activities during the hartal day on Wednesday and Thursday enforced by BNP led 18-party alliance.
