7 killed in road crashes in 3 dists

Dhaka – Seven people were killed and 16 others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong, Tangail and Comilla districts on Friday.
In Chittagong, three motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Boro Kamaldah in Mirsarai upazila in the
early hours.
The deceased were identified as Ataur Rahman, 33, Kafil Uddin, 32, and Mohammad Forkan, 23, of Baroghona village in Banshkhali upazila.
Highway police sergeant Mehedi said an unknown vehicle hit the motorbike of the trio around 2:30 am when they were going to
Chittagong from Comilla, leaving Ataur and Kafil dead on the spot and Forkan injured.
Later, a patrol team of army recovered the bodies and whisked Forkan off to Satkania Upazila Health Complex where he died after some time.
In Tangail, two people were killed and 12 others injured as a train hit a sand-laden truck on an unmanned level crossing at Teghoria in
Basail upazila in the morning.
The deceased were Yaruddin, 30, and Sujat Ali, 32, of Sirajganj district.
Officer-in-charge of Basail police station Salahuddin Miah said the Dhaka-bound ‘Rangpur Express Train’ from Rangpur rammed the truck on
the level crossing around 9am, leaving two workers who were travelling on the truck, dead on the spot and four others injured.
Eight train passengers travelling on its rooftop, also sustained injuries.
Among the injured, four were admitted to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital in critical condition.
In Comilla, two people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Chuoddagram and Daudkandi upazilas.
A young man, Rezaul Karim, of Mirzapur upazila in Tangail district, was killed and four people were injured as a truck collided head-on
with a covered van near Padua in Chuoddagram at noon.
The injured were admitted to Feni Sadar Hospital.
A fish trader, Monir Hossain, 38, son of Mohsin Ali of Bhuzarbhanga village of Daudkandi upazila, was killed as a bus hit a rickshaw
carrying him on his way fish wholesale market near Daudkanai Toll Plaza in the upazila in the morning, said M Hasan, in-charge of
