Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam has described the BNP, led by Khaleda Zia, as the ‘head’ of the anti-liberation parties.
“Jamaat is not the only anti-liberation political party. The main anti-liberation party now is the Khaleda Zia-led BNP,” he said on Friday at the rally organised to mark the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.This is the Awami League’s first rally attended by party chief Sheikh Hasina after it won an absolute majority in the 10th National Election.
“The anti-liberation force is yet to be finished. We need to be careful about them,” said the Awami League leader.
The rally started around 2.30am at the Suhrawardy Udyan with Awami League Presidium Member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury in the chair.
Apart from Sheikh Hasina, party presidium members Motia Chowdhury, Mohammad Nasim, Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, Organising Secretaries AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Ahmed Hossain and Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya also addressed the rally.-bdnews24.com
