8 killed in Mymensingh road crash

Mymensingh – Eight people were killed and 12 others injured as a human hauler, locally known as Leguna, plunged into a roadside ditch at Churkhai Beltali on Mymensingh-Dhaka highway in Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning.Among the eight, six deceased were identified as Mobarak Hossain, 35,his wife Minara Begum, 30, Khokan Miah, 45, his wife Shamsunnahar,30, Azizul Haque, 18, all residents of Mokamia village in Fulpur upazila of Mymensingh, and Sagor Miah, 25, a resident of Sarmara village in Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur district.Abdur Rahman, senior officer of Mymensingh Fire Station, said the Mymensingh-bound human hauler from Dhaka fell into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering around 7:30am,leaving five people dead on the spot and 15 others injured.The injured were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where three of them succumbed to their injuries later.(UNB)
