9 Bangladeshis arrested in India

Four Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Shillong on Friday when they were reportedly smuggling a huge quantity of explosives to Bangladesh, the Press Trust of India (PTI) wrote on Saturday quoting official sources.One of the arrestees, Md Ali was caught by the BSF in West Jaintia Hills district Friday evening while he was trying to cross over to Bangladesh, it said.
The sources said questioning him led to information about the three other Bangladeshis.
The PTI quoted the officials saying the three others – Md Shamsuddin, Md Abdul Junayed and Md Abedin, from Sylhet were arrested during a raid in neighbouring East Jaintia Hills district.
According to the arrestees, they were to hand over the explosives to one Adul Khadir, a resident of Asachar village at Santiganj in Sylhet.
They were later handed over to police.
In another incident, five more Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from Faridabad district of Indian state of Haryana for allegedly living without any valid passport or visa, PTI said in another report on Saturday quoting police.
On a tip-off, ‘Suleman’, ‘Alam’, ‘Roni’, ‘Raju’ and ‘Ripon’ were arrested from the slums near Agra canal on Friday, police said.
They did not have any passport or visa. A case was lodged against them, police said.
