Two Iranian nationals arrested for ‘stealing’ bank money

Dhaka – Police arrested two Iranian Nationals on charge of trying to steal Tk 1 lakh from a counter of Bangladesh Bank in the city’s Motijheel on Wednesday.
The arrestees are Karam, 55, and Jalali Nejad Mostafa, 36.Sources at the Bangladesh Bank said the two Iranian citizens entered inside cash counter no-35 of Bangladesh Bank at around 3:00 pm and attempted to flee the scene snatch way a bundle of Tk one lakh.
Officers and employees of the central bank chased them and caught red handed with the snatched money. Later, they were handed over to Motijheel police station.
When contacted, Officer-in-charge of Motijheel police station Omar Faruk said the two Iranian nationals were handed over to the police station on Wednesday evening.
A case was filed with the police station on Wednesday night accusing the two foreigners of the said crime. They were sent to Dhaka CMM court on Thursday, the OC said. – News Desk
