Jihad’s death case verdict on Feb 26

The Special Court-5 of Dhaka on Wednesday fixed February 26 for delivering its judgment in a case filed over the death of four-year old child Jihad in the city’s Shahjahanpur area in 2014.Judge M Akhtaruzzaman of the special court passed the order yesterday after completion of the submission of arguments from both sides.
Earlier, on October 4 last year, a court framed charges against six accused persons of the case filed over the death of Jihad, who died after falling into the pipe of an abandoned deep tube-well in Shahjahanpur area on December 26, 2014.
The six accused persons are- Shafiqul Islam alias Abdus Salam, contractor of M/S SR House, Md Jahangir Alam, Senior Sub-Assistant Engineer (Inspector of tube-well division) of Bangladesh Railway, its Assistant Engineers Md Nasir Uddin, Zafor Ahmmed Shakir, Dipak Kumar Bhowmik and Md Saiful Islam.
Earlier on April 7, 2016, police submitted the charge sheet of the death of Jihad to the court. – Special Correspondent
