Dhaka – Ten people were injured in an attack on a ‘Gaye Holud’ ceremony of a girl at Chingari village in Chitalmari upazila in Bagerhat on Thursday.UNB agencySeven of the injured were taken to the upazila health complex.Bride’s brother Siraj Sheikh said a group of 30-40 people swooped on the guests at noon when his sister’s ‘Gaye Holud’ ceremony was going on.They beat the guests and vandalised the marquee built for the marriage ceremony and several houses.They also looted gold ornaments and cash money before leaving the spot, Siraj claimed.Office-in-charge of Chitalmari Police Station M Rezaul Karim said bride’s father Idris Sheikh had long been at loggerheads with local UP member Sohagh Sheikh over a murder case.He also said they arrested Sohagh’s brother Arif Sheikh in connection with the incident.
