Dhaka – A court here on Wednesday sentenced a man to death in the sensational Rumi killing case.The court also fined the condemned convict, Saiduzzaman Bachchu, Tk 1 lakh.On June 2, 2012, police recovered the body of Roksana Akter Rumi sliced into 26 pieces from a commercial building, ‘Nahar Plaza’, in the city’s Hatirpool area.Abdus Samad, sub-inspector of Shahbagh Police Station, filed a murder case.Dipak Kumar Das, sub-inspector of Detective Branch (DB) Police and also investigation officer of the case, submitted a charge sheet on September 1, 2012.After examining the records and 16 witnesses, Judge Joyoshree Samaddar of the Women Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-3 pronounced the verdict.UNB news agency
