Six killed in Gopalganj road accident

Dhaka, Jun 20 – At least six people dies in the head-on collision between two buses on Dhaka-Barisal highway at Chagolchera area in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj district on Monday. Four victims died on the spot and two others on the way to hospital on Monday afternoon.Shah Jamal, In-charge of Jolirpar Police Outpost in the upazila, said Aziz Hawladar, 60, and Kamal, 17 succumbed to their injuries on the way to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Earlier in the day, at least four people were killed and 23 others injured in the accident.
The deceased were identified as – Abul Shikder, 45, a bus driver; Kawser, 15, of Barguna; Monoj Kumar, 45, of Madaripur district and Munni Akter, 18, hailing from Bhola.
Officer-in-charge of Muksudpur Police Station Azizur Rahman said a Barisal-bound BRTC bus collided head-on with Dhaka-bound bus of Golden Line in the area at around 1:30pm leaving Abul Shikder and Kawser dead on the spot.
The injured were taken to upazila health complex where physicians declared Monoj and Munni dead.- unb
