Comilla University teachers start work abstention again

Teachers of Comilla University began non-stop work abstention and sit-in programme again on Tuesday to press home their five-point demand including job regularization. As part of their agitation, the teachers belonging to the university teachers’ association refrained from taking classes today and observed a sit-in programme at the university from 12 pm to 1 pm.
Earlier, the teachers’ association held a discussion on the university campus.
Addressing the meeting, the association’s president Dr Ahsan Ullah said the university Vice-Chancellor did not fulfill their main demands in last four months.
“If the demands are not fulfilled in one or two days, tougher programmes will be enforced,” Dr Ahsan warned.
On February 24 this year, the teachers went on movement to realise their demands. They, later, postponed the movement twice as the VC assured them of taking effective steps to meet the demands. (Source: UNB)
