Police held a leader of Hizla Upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami from Uttar Sreepur village under the upazila of the district on Friday night.The detainee is Ruhul Amin, 42, Secretary of Hizla Upazila Jamaat and Baherchar Fazil Madrasa lecturer.
Confirming the information, Hizla police station Officer-in-Charge Shawkat Anwar told journalists, “Acting on tip off that Jamaat-Shibir activists were planning subversive activities, police conducted drive and picked up him.”
He will be sent to court on Saturday after showing arrest in a case filed with the police station against Jamaat men, he added.
IN another development mentioning 32 names, police filed two cases against 282 Shibir men with the Sudharam Model Thana on the charge of obstructing police and clash with them.
Sudharam Model Thana Sub-Inspector Chiranjib filed the cases on Friday.
Officer-in-Charge of the Thana Mir Jahedul Haque Roni confirmed the filing of the cases.
On July 25, a clash took place between Shibir men and police, leaving 10 people injured including Sudharampur Thana SI Mohammad Jahir Uddin. – banglanews24.com
