AL to win JS polls if activists remain at work

Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif defended Sajeeb Wazed Joy’s remarks in which he claimed that Awami League would win the next general election.“Joy meant that Awami League has a huge number of activists in the country and their vibrant work at the grass roots level will motivate people to elect Awami League in the next general poll,” he said.
The spokesperson for the party came up with the explanation in a press briefing organised at the political office of Awami League president at Dhanmondi in the city on Saturday afternoon.
He also said: “Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, talked on the socio-economic circumstances. He hinted about government’s development activities.”
But, he said, BNP leaders are making false remarks on the speech.
Sajeeb Wazed Joy claimed that he has had information about Awami League’s winning the next general elections in an Iftar party at party’s Bangabandhu Avenue Office organized by Juba League on Tuesday.
Awami League organising Secretary Ahmad Hossain and BM Mozammel Haque were among others present at the press meet. – banglanews24.com
