Police on Sunday night arrested a local leader of BNP and another leader of its student associate body Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at Chandidasgati village in Sadar upazila.The arrestees were identified as Mati Sarkar, vice-president of Sadar upazila unit of BNP and president of the party’s Shialkol union unit, and Ripon Sarkar, joint secretary of Sadar upazila Chhatra Dal unit.Being tipped-off, police arrested both of them from their residences at around 9.00pm, after they had stayed absconding for a long time.Both of the arrestees have several cases filed against them for creating vandalism and anarchy. – UNB, Sirajganj
