A three-tier security
arrangement has been made for Rajshahi City and its adjacent
areas for peaceful celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest
religious festival of the Muslims.
Sources with Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and district
police said additional security measures will be in place a day
ahead of the Eid and continue for next three days.
The main Eid jamaat (congregation) will be held on
Shahmukhdum Central Eidgah Moidan at 8.30am and Muhtamim of
Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Maulana Shahadat Ali will conduct the
prayer.
The second largest one will be held at Shaheb Bazar Zero
point at the same time.
Some other main Eid jamaats will be held at Tikapara Eidgah
Moidan, Rajshahi Court Eidgah, Rajshahi Stadium, Shalbagan
Eidgah, New Market Jame Mosque, Police Line Math, Upashahar
Eidgah Moidan and Rajarhata Jame Mosque.
SM Munir-Uz-Zaman, Commissioner of RMP, told newsmen that all
the police stations and camps have already been given
instructions to ensure extra security measures in all the areas
including the Eid congregation venues.
Besides deployment of additional forces, detective vigilance
was intensified at all the busiest market points and shopping
malls.
All the entry points of the city like Katakhali, Naodapara
and Kasiadanga were brought under tight security measures.
Necessary instruction was also given to find suspicious persons
at any points during the celebration.
The movement of boarders of residential hotels will also be
watched.
On the other hand, RAB-5 has taken all-out security measures
to make the festival a total success.
Meanwhile, district administration and Rajshahi City
Corporation (RCC) and all others concerned have chalked out
elaborate programmes to celebrate the holy Eid- ul-Fitr in the
city with due religious fervor.
They have completed all kinds of preparations in the city
under the auspices of Rajshahi district administration,
Metropolitan Police and religious organizations for peaceful
celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The RCC has completed preparations to hold some 60 Eid
congregations at different venues in the city while other
organizations completed 150 congregation structures on the
occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr at traditional and temporary venues
including its 30 wards under the supervision of respective ward
councilors.
To make the city’s Eid congregations successful, the RCC is
facilitating necessary decoration for around 130 Eid jamaats.
Marking the celebration, special diets will be served to the
inmates of different hospitals, jails and Government Shishu
Sadan.
Besides, three prisoners were released from the Rajshahi
central jail ahead of the Eid. – BSS, Rajshahi
