Eid-ul-Fitr congregations in 1,010 Rangpur Eidgahs

The authorities have completed
all preparations for holding the holy Eid-ul-Fitr congregations
at 1,010-Eidgah grounds in the district here on the Eid day,
Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) sources said here today.
Deputy Director of IFB, Rangpur Alhaj Saidur Rahman Syeed
told BSS Rangpur City Corporation (RCC), district administration
and concerned authorities have completed preparations to hold the
main congregations at Rangpur Collectorate Eidgah in the city at
9am.
Divisional Commissioner Delwar Bakht, Deputy Inspector
General Iqbal Bahar, Deputy Commissioner Farid Ahammad, Police
Super Abdur Razzaque, high officials, political leaders, public
representatives, academicians, professionals and elite of the
city are expected to participate in the main congregations.
Alternatively, the main Eid-ul-Fitr congregations will be
held at historical Karamotia Jam-e-Mosque in the city if the
weather remains unfavourable, Deputy Director of the IFB, Rangpur
Alhaj Saidur Rahman Syeed said.
The biggest Eid congregations will be held at Taluk Habu
Eidgah Maidan under Gangachara upazila in the district at 10am
and over one lakh musollis are expected to take part in the Eidul-Fitr prayers there.
The bigger Eid jamaats will be held at Rangpur Zila School,
Karamotia Jam-e-Mosque, Kamal Kachhna Baro Jam-e-Mosque,
Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Khasbag Angur Mian Jame Mosque,
Paschim Khasbag Charmatha Jame Mosque, Mulatol Madrasha and
Munshipara Eidgah Math at 9am in the city.
Bigger jamaats will be held at Police Line ground, BGB
ground and Rangpur Cantonment in between 7:30am and 8am,
Damodarpur Baroi Eidgah ground at 9:30am and Damodarpur Chhoto
Eidgah ground at 8:30am in the city.
Besides, Eid jamaats will be held at Dhap Mohammadpur Jame
Mosque, Sadar Hospital Jame Mosque, Shalban Mistripara ground,
Alamnagar Wakf Mosque, Keramotia Madrasha, Khasbag Jame Mosque
Eidgah Maidan, Mirbag Ramchandrapur Jame Mosque, Central Bus
Terminal Jame Mosque, Satmatha Jame Mosque, Nachnia Jame Mosque
and Mahiganj College ground in between 8:30am and 10am.
Outside the city, the bigger Eid-ul-Fitr jamaats will be
held at Badarganj Keramotia Chandamari Jame Mosque, Pirgachha
Karbala Eidgah Maidan, Pirgachha JN High School, Pirgachha Ahle
Hadith Mosque, Satdorgah Mosque, Parul Chechakandi Orphanage
ground, Kishamat Bishu Manjai Eidgah Maidan and Alambiditor
Paikan Baro Jame Mosque ground in between 10am and 10:30am.
In addition, hundreds of Eid jamaats will be held in Eidgahs,
Mosques and grounds in the rural areas in all eight upazilas
between 10am and 11am and the law enforcing agencies have taken
adequate steps to ensure peaceful holding of the congregations.
Thousands of Muslim devotees will offer special prayers
seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and
prosperity of the country, its people and Muslim Ummah as a whole
in all Eid congregations in the district.
The national flag will be hoisted atop the government and
private buildings, main streets will be decorated with various
flags bearing inscriptions and improved diets will be served in
the hospitals, jails, shishu paribars, orphanages and vagrant
welfare centres.
Police sources said that special security
measures have been taken for peaceful holding the Eid-ul-Fitr
congregations throughout the district on the Eid day. – BSS, Rangpur
