AL man picked up by unidentified people in capital

Dhaka, July 27 – Parvez Hossain Sarker, former chairman of Comilla’s Titas upazila with Awami League ticket has been reportedly picked up by men in plainclothes from Lalmatia area of the capital on Friday afternoon. Jamal Uddin Mir, Officer in Charge, Mohammadpur police station told the independent that somebody has picked him up without our notice. We are looking into the matter. The whole matter will come to light after watching the footage of CCTV.
Police official also said quoted witnesses that Sarker was coming out of Lalmatia Minar Mosque after Friday Jumma prayers when a group of men pushed him away in a car.
However CCTV footage shows that while Parvez Hossain Sarker was coming towards his home, two men came and by forced him to get into a car.
Family members said that that a black SUV (Dhaka Metro Ga- 142577) was standing in front of his house in Lalmatia C block. Four people were following him. Parvez went to the mosque.
While he came back after finishing his prayer, four people handshake with him. Then they tucked him into the car. They have informed the senior officials of Mohammadpur Police Station.
Parvez used to live with his family including his wife and two sons in Lalmatia. He served as a Upozila chairman from 2009 to 2014 tenure. – Staff Reporter
