Rony’s no objection to final report in Salman case

Awami League MP Gulam Maula Rony on Wednesday declared his no objection about the final report of police in the case he filed against the chairman of The Independent TB Salman F Rahman and two journalists of the private TV channel while the court heard the petition and fixed November 28 to pass order.
Earlier in the day, Rony,s lawyer submitted the petition seeking no objection about the final report of the Investigation Officer (IO).
Rony was brought to the court for his presence during the hearing.
Magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order after hearing. – Court Correspondent Rony,s lawyer Kabir Hosain told the newsmen that police submitted the final report within only seven days and the process was not done following the rules and regulations of the court properly.
MP Rony was sent to jail in a case filed for beating The Independent TV reporter Imtiaz Momin and cameraperson Mohsin Mukul at his Topkhana Road office in the capital on July 20.
The two media men are members of a team that produces crime investigation show for the TV channel.
Rony obtained ad interim bail from the CMM Court on July 21 upon a bond of Tk 5,000 but it was cancelled on July 24 following an appeal of Yusuf Ali, Assistant Manager of the TV channel, who alleged that Rony issued threat to him after he got bail from the court.
