Ensuring transparency in land registration stressed

Speakers at a function here on Monday stressed the need for making land registration
process easier and modernized to remove people’s sufferings and ensure accountability
and transparency of the registry offices.
“In this context, the digitized land registration system can play important and vital roles
to eliminate all sorts of corruption, irregularities and mismanagement in the registry
offices,” they said.
They made the comments while addressing a public consultation on easing and
modernizing land registration process on Shaghata Upazila Registry Office premises of
the district.
Saghata Upazila Registry Office organized the function under Implementing Democracy
through Parliamentary Development Project funded by United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP).
Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliament Affairs
Ministry Advocate Fazley Rabbi Miah addressed the meeting as the chief guest and Khan
Tipu Sultan, MP, and Fajilatun Nesa, MP, were present as special guests.
With inspector general of registration, directorate of registration Khan M. Abdul Mannan
in the chair, the consultation meeting was also addressed, among others, by additional
secretary and project director Pronob Chakrabartee, Shaghata UNO Abdul Awal, acting
president of upazila AL Fazlul Haque Dudu and local union parishad chairman Shamsul
Azad Shital.
Veteran parliamentarian Advocate Fazley Rabbi Miah said the government led by Prime
Minister has already taken steps to bring all the offices of the country under digitized
system through materializing the Vision 2021.
He also assured all of solving the infrastructural and the other existing problems of the
