A Bangladeshi young man was injured as Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened
fire on him on Molani border in Haripur upazila of the district on Friday night.
The victim was identified as Anwar Hossain, 26, son of Akimuddin at Moradhar village
of the upazila.
Major Kazi Alamgir Hossain, operation officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-
30 Battalion, said a patrol team of BSF from Sripur camp opened fire on a group of 15
Bangladeshi cattle traders, including Anwar, around 11.00pm while they tried to enter the
Indian territory, leaving him injured.
However, other cattle traders took away Anwar from the spot and got him admitted to a
local clinic.
BGB has already sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident, added Major Alamgir. –
