104 sued over Satkhira Matsyajibi Dal leader murder; 7 held

A case has been filed against 104 BNP men in connection with the killing of district
Jatiyatabadi Matsyajibi Dal president Aman Ullah Aman.
Fatema Khatun, mother of the deceased, filed the case against 54 identified and 50
unidentified BNP men with Sadar Police Station early Saturday.
District unit BNP president and former MP Habibul Islam Habib has been made prime
accused in the case.
District Jubo Dal president Abul Hasan Hadi is also among the accused.
Police arrested seven people including Sadik Anwar Chhoto, general secretary of
Ashashuni thana Jatiyatabadi Matsyajibi Dal unit, in this connection.
Molla Jahangir Hossain, superintendent of police of the district, said at least seven people
were arrested so far. Among the arrestees, Sadik Anwar Chhoto was an accused in the
case.
Aman Ullah Aman, 44, district Matsyajibi Dal president, was killed and 15 people were
injured in a clash between two groups of BNP in Satkhira town around 11.00 am on
Friday over taking seats on the podium during a workers’ meeting of the party.
Meanwhile, the opposition BNP on Friday night suspended all the activities of its
Satkhira unit committee following the internal clash.
The party also formed a three-member committee to look into the incident. -UNB,
