A court of Dhaka on Thursday sent BNP’s Standing Committee member retired Brigadier General Hannan Shah to jail after he was produced to the court on completion of a two-day remand.Magistrate Md Tareque Moinul Islam Bhuiyan passed the order when Sub-Inspector Md Akramul Haque of Bhatara Police Station, and also the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case sought order of the court to send Hannan Shah to jail.
Later, Advocate Sanaullah Miah told this correspondent that they would appeal to the higher court against the CMM Court’s decision to secure bail for the 72-year aged leader of BNP.
On November 26, the same court placed Hannan Shah on a two-day remand following a plea for a 10-day remand prayer to interrogate him in a case filed for carrying out vandalism at Bhatara in the capital on October 26.
Plain clothes law enforcers detained him at Natunbazar after he attended a programme at Japan embassy on November 25. – Court Correspondent
